Top 5 Beaches in Tulum 2023
Tulum, located on the Caribbean coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, is famous for its pristine beaches, turquoise waters, and unique culture. With its mix of Mayan ruins, stunning natural beauty, and vibrant nightlife, during a time when Tulum beaches often require parking payments and bottle service, we want to talk about the few beautiful, in expensive, fun spots left in Tulum
1. Ikal
Ikal is located towards the ruins on the public side of the main beach in Tulum. In addition to the beautiful beach Ikal is situated on they also have amazing yoga classes, breathwork workshops, sound healing and all the other Tulumy experiences you would hope for. Ikal has it’s own private parking and as long as you eat or drink anything (which is easy, as they also have a matcha-mama cafe where you can pickup a delicious coffee or smoothie bowl) parking is included! Ikal also has a relaxed outdoor restaurant where you can grab a bite to eat in between your ocean frolicing.
2. La Zebra
La Zebra is one of the few combinations of beautiful beach (somehow when the seaweed hits Tulum, La Zebra seems to have a secction of the beach that is always no seaweed and beautfiul). They also have amazing lunch, often times live music and very chill, relaxing vibes. If you’re looking for a party this is not the spot, but if you’re looking to soak up the beauty of Tulum beaches, this is your place.
3. Cinco
Cinco is a true local/expat beach club. Yummy and affordable. Located on the public side this is one of the most popular, non bottle service beach club in Tulum. If you are looking to have some margaritas, some fish tacos, chill with friends, with fun music, vibe and beautiful ocean then this is your place. Parking is free but they do often times have a minimum spend, which is easy to hit but make sure to plan coming for lunch and drinks!
4. Ahau
Ahau. More then just the famous beautiful Tulum statue. Our favorite part about this beach club is the relationship it has with Raw Love, the organic restaurant that lives on their beach. If you get anything at Raw Love the parking for Ahau is only 50 pesos (or about $3.00) Raw Love has the best smoothie bowls in Tulum and you have to try the vegan chocolate cake. The beach at Ahau seems to be the cleanest and most picturesque in Tulum. It’s always white sand and blue water, the staff is happy and you can always count on good music and chill but happy vibes.
5. Taboo
Ok so here’s the deal. Taboo is a staple for anyone coming that wants a proper beach CLUB feel with their freinds. This is the kind of place that’s easy to hate on when you spend all your time in Tulum because it’s expensive, over the top and like a club you might find in Miami or Vegas or something. However, with that said, once in a while everyone wants to splurge and go crazy at a proper party spot. Taboo fills that desire for sure. You can find as many hot people, bottles and dance music to your hearts fullest desire. Make sure to bring your hat and cape, you will be officially joinging the Tuluminati after an afternoon here.
